Personal mnemonics?
Closed

Mnemonic devices are word associations and/or patterns you use to help remember things. Ones I learnt growing up include Roy G. Biv for colours of the rainbow, and bring and buy = brought and bought. But I also have a few I've made up myself. Like to whether to use stationery or stationary I think stationAry is standing Around.

Do you have any unique mnemonic devices you use?

There was a girl I was at school with whose name was Vivienne, which no-one seemed to be able to spell. She used to go around saying "Two v's, two i's, two e's two n's". The other one I've always used is "a principal has a leader at the end, a principle doesn't."
