Unwelcome visitors
Closed

A huge beehive was discovered inside the ceiling of a Brisbane house! The hive had grown over 10 months and held 60,000 bees.

Have you ever had any uninvited or unwelcome house guests of the animal kind? What would you do if this were your home?

We've had Ants in the summer time, Mice during Winter and one time we had a stray Cat, which was a surprise! Haha.

Only mice and a trap with cheese or a raisin deals to them in due course.

Can't say I've had anything but the usual insects. I'd like to think, after the initial shock, I would make use of the honey! Once I had called local bee keepers to come and entice the bees out, since we are seriously lacking bees. I think I'd move out until it was all clear though....

Not guests, but evidence they'd been. In 1978 I bought a cottage, the electrician doing some rewiring came down the ladder a lot faster than he'd gone up it saying there was a GIGANTIC wasp nest in the attic. I went up the ladder and sat listening. Complete silence. I poked the nest. More silence. Yup, abandoned nest. For which I was deeply grateful!
