Should women reveal if they are pregnant at a job interview?
Closed

Legally women are not obligated to reveal if they are pregnant while at a job interview, however do you think the potential employer should know anyway?

Is it unfair to the employer and other candidates to withhold this information (assuming the woman knows that she's pregnant), or does the woman have every right pursue the job? Have you ever been in this situation, either as the employee or employer?

This is a difficult question to answer, and we'd love to know your thoughts!

I think it depends on the position of the job whether it is labour intensive or not.

Shouldn't need to legally but best to be honest, as employer will need to plan for a replacement for when she goes on maternity leave

Pregnancy should not be an issue when hiring someone. If they have all the qualifications and skills to do the job correctly then they should be given a fair go.
