Does technology make us more lazy?
Closed

LG have unveiled their latest household device - a closet that steams and "refreshes" your dirty clothes, so you can avoid doing your laundry for as long as possible (https://mashable.com/article/lg-styler-self-cleaning-closet-ces-2019/?utm_cid=hp-h-3#7G22vk86EmqI)

As technology becomes increasingly more sophisticated, not only are jobs becoming automated, but so are day-to-day chores. Using technology in this manner may seem unnecessary, but it may just be the natural evolution of society as a whole. For example, the regular washing machine may have seemed unnecessary when it was first invented, but today you would hardly find a household that doesn't use one.

Do you think technology is causing us to become more lazy, or is the convenience provided by these gadgets the best thing to happen to us?

Absolutely! Why do you think obesity is on the rise. It's because were too busy watching youtube cat videos, that's why.

I don’t necessarily agree as I used my technology to help me keep track on my exercising routine and other productive processes. But I can certainly understand the dillema in terms of using technology to do things for us like telling a device to turn on the light when you can walk a little distance and shed a few kilo in the process.

don't know about making us lazy - we still have to sort the clothes and hang out bring back in afterwards - then IRON. Vacuuming is mainly driven by human although robots are around but not suited for all homes. Microwaves still has some preparation and washing up after or dishwasher and still have to put away. They just make life quicker so that one gets more chores done in one day. AND saves tennis elbow from scrubbing clothes on scrubber boards and floors with brushes
