Our question this week is: The most recent Miss USA pageant winner stated that health care is a privilege not a right - what do you think about this?

Ground Rules: Open to AU and NZ members only. Each week, the TolunaTeamAUNZ will create a topic on the AU and NZ sites regarding a specific theme, and ask members to provide their opinion. Seems like its only the people who can afford the privilege who are saying such things. They don't see the bigger picture that is the WHOLE WORLD and what each persons different situation may be.

I don't think 'miss pageant winner' would be saying that if her circumstances were different and she had no access to healthcare. I think this is a very shallow statement. Maybe she should spend her time learning about (or helping) those less fortunate and less time on pageants. Healthcare should be a right for all but sadly in today's world this isn't the case..

Health Care is a right for everyone. Everyone, that is paying the country taxes and a loyal citizen / Permanent Resident deserves the right to be given a good quality health care and to be able to have a healthy life.

Everyone's health is their own look out. We all need to take care of ourselves and plan as though there was no national health care. Who knows what will happen? There are very few certainties or true rights in this life. There is a cost to everything.
